What makes a true tin collector

Sharp Eye
Not all tins are appealing to the eye. Those having attractive designs are generally more sought after by collectors. Finding them is the hard part and takes a sharp eye.
X-Factor
You dont need a moustache but there is something unique about every collector. Whether it's wanting to preserve history for the future, having a very patient wife, or simply being different to their friends, collectors alway have an X-Factor.
Deep Pockets
Collecting tins is addictive! Rare tins can be expensive but not all tins are. Expereinced collectors know that quality, quality, quality is always the key.
Passion
It can take years and even a lifetime to build a quality tin collection. It takes passion, patience and commitment but is worth every second it takes.

Our story started in about 1990 and is far from finished. Initially attracted to the bright colors and gorgeous designs on tobacco tins from the early 1900's I began to buy as many tins as I could.
With so many products other than tobacco also sold in tins I have since focussed on those with attractive lithograph pictures and designs which in some way reflect social history of their era.
I especially like tins with nautical or military themes and those with lady images. These can be tobacco, candy, biscuits or gramophone needles, and can be from anywhere in the world.
Perhaps the things I enjoy just as much as finding a new treasure are meeting other collectors around the world and using the technology of today to connect me in a unique way to the past.
